48. Whiskey on the Rocks

Materials Used: Crown Royal, ice cubes, chopstick, Korg CM-100, Audix f9, MacBook Pro running SuperCollider

How It Was Made: When blocks of ice on liquid hit a resonant surface (such as glass or mug), I hear clear chime-like sound. This sonic experience is enhanced with amplitude-triggered synthetic tones. Whenever an ice cube hits the glass, the sound is picked up by the contact microphone and it triggers an electronic tone with randomized pitch.
